As CEO for both FlixFling and Invincible Pictures, Tom Ashley is building a major independent entertainment group with diverse operations in music, film, television and artist/producer management, distribution and technology.
Filmmaking since he was 16, Tom started as a production assistant and quickly took on just about every aspect of filmmaking there is, including: production design, producing, directing and even marketing. His depth of experience and multi-faceted approach bring producer's instincts and an indie filmmaker's spirit to FlixFling.
Tom was inspired to create FlixFling in direct response to the fast-changing dynamic of how films are watched and distributed. Consumers increasingly want the ability to fluidly access entertainment whenever and wherever they want; today's filmmakers are searching for new channels to reach their audiences and FlixFling is built perfectly for this new landscape.
In spring of 2008, Ashley created IP Film Partners, a motion picture entertainment fund managed by Invincible Pictures. IP Film Partners acquires and licenses finished motion picture properties for distribution on a global platform. Later that year, Ashley opened Philadelphia Soundstages, a 50,000 square foot facility in Philadelphia that includes Sound Stages, Production Offices and warehousing for Invincible's pick, pack and ship operations.
Previously, as founder of Powerhouse Media Group, Ashley developed and executed high-profile marketing campaigns for household names including: GM, Pfizer, GSK, Prada, VH1, MTV and WAWA. In 2003 Ashley Produced and Directed "13th Child" starring the Academy Award winning actor Cliff Robertson alongside Robert Guillaume, Lesley-Anne Down and Christopher Atkins.
In 2011, Ashley's Invincible Pictures will debut the critically acclaimed foreign horror film "A Serbian Film" in theaters nationwide. The independent film sent shockwaves through the industry at SBSX and Cannes this year. Invincible plans to release the film exclusively through FlixFling.
